Comic Quest : Kick Start Actvity

Our comic strip was made by Matheus and myself. Our challenge was to make a comic strip that involves the beach. Our comic strip is called Fun at the beach. Our story is about two kids having fun playing volleyball with eachother and swimming. My partner and I enjoyed this activity because it was a collaboration activity.

Nemesis

Our challenge for the summer learning journey was to design a nemesis that is used to rival the superhero. I built on this challenge by creating a DLO that explained who our Nemesis is, what their strengths and abilities are and what happened to them. My nemesis is Teka The Nature Devourer.

I found this activity interesting because I got to create my own nemesis for my superhero.

SLJ – Kickstart Activity (Cook Island superhero & Alter ego)

LI :  To create a DLO about a superhero that repersents my culture.

For the Summer Learning Journey kickstart activity we had to make a DLO that repersents my culture. For this actvity I chose to make a superhero expressing my Cook Island culture. I thought of a few things to help me explain about my superhero. I added a twist with including my alter ego aswell. I enjoyed this activity because I can express my culture to people who would look at my blog.

Market Day

LI: To create a DLO about Market Day.

Technology unit were used for posters to make them colourful. The technology unit was for advertising. Some of the class’s had their advertising posters all around the school.

Market poster for each class were bright, colourful, jazzy, flashy, multicolor, and etc.

The design process had many types of designs like: colourful, glittery, and etc.The marketing had people buying things from there stall. The selling process of the each market stall had people advertising their amazing things that each class made.

The product of the market day had many different types of things that people wanted to buy, but my favourite was Room 1’s slime because it was made as perfection. The only thing that was bad about the sells is that, there wasn’t that much slime or playdough. LS2 had harakeke packets and had buy 1 get 1 free.

I enjoyed this activity because I had the chance to witness how much fun people had buying and selling.

CARE Award | How to make a DLO

I am currently working on my confidence badge. To achieve this my challenge is to complete 5 tasks that help me strengthen my connections to the PBS CARE value of confidence. Confidence . My challenge in this task was to show junior how to create a DLO.

This activity was interesting because this DLO can help our new students using devices how to create a DLO to explain their activity to others.

CARE – Respectful Leader (Malietoa Tanumafili ll)

Respectful leaders is people who leads groups to their goal and helps them out. Respectful leaders is a: prime minister, goverment, captain, and etc. Malietoa Tanumafili ll was named a respectful leader because he lead Samoa to independence in 1962. He was born in 1913 January the 4th. He died on 2007 May 7th, at the age of 49.

  • Some facts about this person is that his father was the king of Samoa between 1898 – 1939 until he passed away.
  • Other countries reacted to his death, New Zealand, USA (United States of America), UK (United Kingdom), South Africa, China, and etc.
  • They named Malietoa Tanumafili ll the great leader of Samoa because he led Samoa to the independence in 1962.

CARE _ Aretha Franklin’s Song Respect

Aretha Fanklin was born in 25 March 1942 and 1960 is got her first hit song when she was 18. Aretha Franklin is a singer/artist. She makes many songs, but one of the songs we are forcing on was RESPECT. The reason we are forcing on the song RESPECT is because one of the CARE awards is respect. One of the facts I wrote was that: she won 18 grammys, and 122 singles. One of the lines of the song RESPECT is “R-E-S-P-E-C-T, take care, TCB.” TCB means taking care.

I found this activity diffcult because I never knew about Aretha Franklin, but I knew her song RESPECT.

CARE Awards – RESPECT

For this activity I chose to write a thank you letter to Mr Johston.

Thank you for providing and cooking the food for us. Without you, we wouldn’t be energised for the activities we had participated in. Whether it was the succulent mash potatoes and peas or the appetising wraps, it was stupendously amazing. I have never seen a principal devote all his time just to cook meals for our classmates.

Special thanks to you Mr Johnston,
